Walking

It's sure nice to take a walk every morning. It has been fun and getting easier. The first 2 or 3 days were hard to get going. I got me a pedometer and this morning my walk was 2.5 miles. That's a good start. Sheila rides her bike every day. Hopefully we can burn a few calories and then pounds.

Fathers

I'm grateful for my Dads, Grandpas, Uncles, Brothers, Sons, and Nephews. Thanks for all you do to care for us, provide for us and help us along our journey. Thanks for being so good! Happy Father's Day!

It's Official

I'm now Sheila's guardian. We went to court this morning and we were in and out of there in about 30 minutes. We stopped at Trolley Square afterwards and saw our cousin Doug who has a store there. It was fun and he gave Sheila a Roy Rogers lunch box. That of course made her day. Sheila got to go to the dentist today also. She got a new bag for a prize for being so good.

More about Philmont

Philmont is a Scout Ranch out in Cimarron, New Mexico. A fellow by the name of Waite Phillips donated thousands of acres of land and the Villa that sits on it to the Boy Scouts of America.

A few of the thoughts he lived by:

"Real philanthropy consists of helping others, outside our own family circle, from whom no thanks is expected or required."

"The only things we keep permanently are those we give away."

He was an incredible man.
