Christmas Breakfast

Hello everyone! The annual Christmas breakfast is going to be on Saturday, December 19th. Come anytime between 9 and 11 am.

Thanksgiving

We had Eliza and Jack here last week. What a treat for us. We had an early Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday. Today we had Thanksgiving dinner again, but without the turkey. We had pizza and salads. We played the candy bar game with a twist. We added some little gifts and wrapped everything up. So no one knew for sure what they were getting until it was all over.
I'm thankful for our wonderful Family, and that includes both sides. Parents, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, children and grandchildren. I'm thankful for a wonderful husband who loves me in spite of my self. I'm thankful for our home, our ward family, the clothes we wear, the food we eat. I'm thankful for good health, good friends, Temples, the Gospel, and the scriptures. I'm thankful for The Savior and Heavenly Father, who make all things possible.

Time Out for Women

I went to Time Out for Women - the theme was "sweet ASSURANCE the certainty that comes when you know life's truths."

"Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith..." Hebrews 10:22.

My cup was empty, and when I left it was full.

We were fed some beautiful music and the spoken word. I'm grateful for the talents and efforts of those that were presenters and those that provided this opportunity for us to come and participate.

This I know...That Jesus Christ is my Savior. He lives. He loves me.

We got to tend Abe for a while last week. He is an absolute doll! We had a fun birthday party for Linda. Love my friends and family!

Went to Cafe Rio for dinner tonight. We first made a stop at the Chiropracters office for some back cracking. It felt wonderful.
The block wall is up. Nice!

I have some pretty great neighbors and friends which include our Ward family. We had a chili cook-off last night. The food was yummy and it was nice to visit with everyone. Our meetings were nice today - I love my calling in the Primary. I get to play the piano and also go to the nursery with the chorister and sing with the little kids. There are a lot of kind people in this world. Our block wall is almost complete. It just needs the top and one post needs finishing. I'm enjoying it already. I took some random pictures of the yard. This is a beautiful time of year.

Today's progress.

The footings were poured today, and everything is looking good. We talked to the contractor and they will start laying block in the morning. It should be up 4 feet by tomorrow night.

We're getting a new block wall along our back yard. The old fence was removed yesterday and they dug the trench so they can pour the footings.

We got snow in the mountains. Brrr...

We went to Heber today. Blair had to make a delivery. The leaves were beautiful!

Sheila had a tooth pulled today and she gets two new crowns next week. She doesn't look like she's in too much pain. She's brave.

We had a nice drive to Ogden and Logan yesterday. Blair had to make a few deliveries, so Sheila and I tagged along. I went for a nice walk with Heidi and Benji this morning. Then Sheila and I went to Aunt Pearl's funeral. I loved seeing my cousins and my Aunt Leone, Aunt Shirley and Uncle Warren.
This afternoon we took Hailey to Cabela's for an early birthday present. Sheila got her fishing license while we were there, so she's ready to go. We then went to a Smith Family reunion. It was nice to see more cousins, Aunt Helen, Aunt Claudia and Uncle Gilbert.

Just watched the news about that horrible accident. No serious injuries. It was a miracle. I'm so grateful.

The Travels of Blair and Laurie

We just got back from Vegas. We left Saturday. Blair had a delivery in Ivins, and a delivery in Henderson. We couldn't believe the fire that was raging out of control in New Harmony. We only hoped it wouldn't burn the homes down. The next day we learned a few homes and other buildings were destroyed. So sad. Vegas was filled with smoke from the fires burning in California. The winds were just blowing like crazy while we were there. We had In-N-Out for lunch 3 days in a row. I enjoyed a cheeseburger with grilled onions. That was sooo good! We're thankful for sweet Karen for taking care of Sheila while we were gone. On our way home the fire in New Harmony looked almost contained. There were a few hot spots. We were diverted off the freeway near Beaver. A semi rammed into the back of another semi. The cab on the rear semi was totally smashed in. It was a miracle if the driver made it out alive. We stopped in the next town for gas and learned from the Highway Patrol that a car was between the two semi's. I wept for them. I'm thankful we made it home safely. I'm thankful for my wonderful family. I'm thankful for good neighbors who look after our home while we are away. I'm thankful for brothers and sisters who are so kind and thoughtful. I'm thankful for children who help me out when I forget what I'm doing.

Trip to Logan

Blair and I went to Logan for 2 days. Blair had work at USU and a company in Logan. It was so nice there, and so peaceful. We stayed at the University Inn on campus. After Blair finished his work we drove through Logan Canyon and over to Bear Lake. We stopped for a fresh raspberry shake. What a nice time we had.
